One of the premier lodging, special event, and conference centers in the area, located in the heart of Chicago’s upscale Magnificent Mile district, the hotel features over 810,000 square feet of elegant accommodations, meeting rooms, and banquet rooms. Originally built in 1929, each floor of the hotel represents a myriad of cultures and eras. The public areas available for viewing provide a glimpse of the rich history of the building.
Wireless Concepts was originally asked to design, install, commission, and optimize a multi-sector 3G/4G active distributed antenna system (DAS) for the entire hotel in time for the high-profile Chicago NATO summit. The scope of the design added coverage to twenty-six (26) floors in the North Tower and thirty-eight (38) floors in the South Tower. The 3G/4G footprint currently covers 810,000 plus square feet of the hotel. More and more people have gone completely wireless and the demand for faster wireless service anytime and anyplace is now the standard.
The InterContinental Hotel Chicago Magnificent Mile has added a cutting edge amenity to their list, 4G wireless coverage anywhere inside the hotel. Hotel rooms, dining rooms, business meetings, conference goers, and guests celebrating special events, will now have access to 3G and 4G services. Guests can now stay in touch with loved ones, email, search the web, and download at 4G speeds, from anywhere inside the hotel, via their smartphones, tablets, and laptops.
